Category C Training course
This is the most popular GDS licence in the UK and is the entry level GDS licence. Every town in the UK has hundreds of deliveries being made every day in one of these vehicles. The average Cat C vehicle is an 18 tonne rigid.
At GDS Driver Training Centre, we’ll arrange a course specifically for you in one of our over nationwide training centres. With Category C Licence you will be eligible to drive an LGV over 3,500kg – there is NO upper weight limit.
This vehicle is commonly known as a Rigid Body, Class 2 or an LGV, and is typically used for making local or national deliveries. The LGV training takes 4 days. Once you’ve got the LGV licence, we would expect you to be able to earn a starting salary of up to £38k per year, rising with experience. Plus, don’t forget, you can boost your earning capacity with specialist driver courses such as ADR ( for transporting hazardous substances ) HiAb, Moffett and Forklift.
